Belinda Kay (Mathis) Brown, age 75, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. A visitation for Belinda will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Rev. Billy Boatwright will officiate. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
Belinda displayed a deep-seated passion for life, taking great delight in dancing, gambling, traveling, outdoor activities, and cherishing quality time with her family. She also showed expertise as a skilled seamstress and a certified machinist.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Kay Mathis; son, James R. Brown, Jr.; parents, Acton and Irene Mathis; brothers, Ted, Don, Jimmy, Fred, and Marvin Mathis; parents-in-law, Jim and Anne Brown; brothers-in-law, Ray Hunter, Barry French, and John Brown; and sister-in-law, Jean Mathis.
Belinda is survived by her husband, James R. “Jim” Brown; daughter, Jessica (Mickey) Teems; chosen son, Philip (Lily) Cranford; grandsons, Jaylan Cranford and Jayce Cranford; granddaughter, Georgia Teems; great grandson, Tytus Teems; sister, Patsy Hunter; sister and best friend, Janice French; sisters-in-law, Janice Mathis, Terri (Art) Manger, and Jackie (Mick) Miler; and multiples nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jaylan Cranford, Mickey Teems, Philip Cranford, Jeff Morgan, Dennis Cranford “Paw Paw Nut”, and Michael Hunter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jayce Cranford and Donnie England.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, Angels of Healing, Angie Ford, Brittany Turner, and Marie Mendez.
