Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday-June 9, 2010 at Fairview Cemetery for Mrs. Barbara G. Grady, age 72 of Glencoe who passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, June 6, 2010. Rev. Tim Hassler will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services Directing.
Barbara was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Glencoe and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was employed with USW Local 12L as secretary for 50 years. Barbara was born with a gift of musical talent and she shared her talent through the years as pianist and organist. She graduated from Etowah High School and Jacksonville State University.
She was a wonderful mother, maw maw and friend. She leaves precious memories to cherish to son, Phil (Patsy) Grady, granddaughter, Christi (Randy) Davis, four great granddaughters, Breanna, Kaitlynn, Abigail and Adrianna, sisters, Linda Smith and Sandra (David) McElwee as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Special friends, Charles and Gerri Strawn and Jean Pruitt. She will be greatly missed by all who know and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin (Dag) Grady, parents, Houston and Veatrice Davis, brother, Bob Davis and brother-in-law, Larry Smith.
Pallbearers for Barbara will be, Randy Davis, Keith Davis, Stewart Bridges, Mark McElwee, Steven Smith and Ronnie Gunnells.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all past and present officers and members of Local 12L.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.mTuesday evening at the funeral home.
