Anne R. Byram, age 90, a resident of Montgomery, formerly of Gadsden, Alabama, died on December 25, 2020. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Elisabeth Byram, her daughter, Janet B. Lindley, her grandchildren, Nicholas Byram, Kathryn Lindley Mason, and Will Lindley, and her great-grandchildren, George Byram, Helen Byram, and Lindley Anne Mason. Anne was predeceased by her husband, James A. Byram, her sisters, Julia, Kathryn, Helen, and Betty, and her parents, George and Lee Gaines Ryals.
Anne was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gadsden, and the Morris Friendship Sunday School Class. She had a career in banking for over 40-years, retiring as Vice President-Operations of Compass Bank in Gadsden. She was active in civic affairs, including the Gadsden Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Altrusa Club, and as Treasurer of the local American Heart Association.
The family wishes to thank Theresa Braswell and the staff of Oak Grove Inn for their love and support. Due to current restrictions, a private family funeral service will be held in Gadsden, followed by entombment at Crestwood Mausoleum on December 31. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Gadsden, or other charities of your choice.
