Anne Camp Musselman, age 92, of Seneca, South Carolina (formerly of Gadsden, Alabama) passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Anne was a godly wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, whose love for, and commitment to, Jesus Christ impacted every area of her life. Her character shone brightly before all who knew her, and she demonstrated over and over again, with encouraging words and acts of kindness, that she was truly a woman of God who was more interested in serving her family and others than herself. She was a source of quiet strength and vitality for her family and for those whose valleys, at times, seemed so difficult and deep. Her five children enjoyed a great sense of stability, acceptance, support, and love which she and Wally, her husband, provided for them over many years in their home in Gadsden.
In her relationship with Christ, she truly understood that she was a sinner in need of God’s grace, and so, early in life, she placed her trust in Him alone for her eternal life. From the fulness of her relationship with Him, her sacrificial love overflowed into the lives of countless others who still rise up and speak of her with thanksgiving and praise. And in the many losses she experienced during her lifetime, including her mother and father, her husband, all of her eight siblings, and her only daughter, Jean, she exuded a quiet confidence in her Lord and rested in the truth of her favorite Bible verse: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Rom. 8:28).
Anne was born on December 2, 1925, in Atlanta, Georgia, married veteran Wally Musselman after World War II on July 15, 1945, and gave birth to five children during the years they lived in Griffin, Georgia. After living in Virginia for a year, they settled with their family in Gadsden, Alabama. After Wally’s death in 2006, Anne moved to Seneca, SC, for the duration of her life.
Anne was predeceased by her husband, Wally, and her daughter, Jean (2010). She is survived by her 4 sons Ron (Connie), John (Colleen), Tom (Joye), and Tim (Kathy). She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
