Thomas was born on January 14, 1951 in Fulton, MO the son of Thomas Arthur Briggs Sr and Dorothy Marie (Obst) Briggs who preceded him in death. He attended St Peter’s Catholic School and then graduated from Fulton High School in 1969 where he played several sports throughout the years, earning All-State in football. He then earned a football scholarship to Kansas State University, where he was in a fraternity and earned a Bachelor’s degree in general education with an emphasis in History. Tom spent most of his career as an operator for AP Green before retiring. He was married to Charlotte (Logan) Briggs and they had two daughters. He then was married to Karon (Blackwell) Briggs and they owned and operated Karon’s Classic Diner in Fulton, MO. Tom enjoyed farming, drinking coffee in the morning with his friends and had a boisterous and contagious laugh that would light up any room he walked into. He will be tremendously missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include: two daughters, Christina Mann of Fulton, MO and Ashley Briggs of Columbia, MO; three brothers, Patrick Briggs (Jaelyn) of Douglass, KS, Timothy Briggs (Tammy) of Fulton, MO and James Briggs of Fulton, MO; two granddaughters, Courtney Mann and Adrian Mann and six nieces and nephews, Timothy Briggs Jr and his family, Mari Jones and her family, Candy Moore and her family, Brandy Neil and her family, William Briggs and his family and Taylore King and her family.
Private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton, MO with Fr. Joseph Abah officiating.
