Sandra was born on March 1, 1947 in Doniphan, MO the daughter of Al and Jane (Choate) McGraw who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on August 29, 1970 in St. Louis, MO to John F. Hunter. She was a faithful member of Rising Sun Baptist Church in Auxvasse, MO. Sandra worked for several local restaurants including Ryan’s in Columbia and Golden Corral in Mexico. She enjoyed bowling, listening to gospel music, watching St Louis Cardinal’s baseball and spending time with her family. Her passion and ministry was playing the piano and organ for several local churches for different worship services.
Survivors include: her husband of 53 years, John F. Hunter of the home; two sons, John J Hunter (Julie) of Columbia, MO and Jamie Hunter of Fulton, MO; two daughters, Jennifer Kyser of Fulton, MO and Joy Nix (Murry) of Troy, MO; one brother, Greg McGraw (Wende) of St. Charles, MO and three grandchildren, Zoey Nix, Tyler McCutchen and Colton O’Neal.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at Rising Sun Baptist Church in Auxvasse, MO. Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 am at the church with Pastor Wil Hoffmann officiating. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Church in Jacksonville, MO at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 3, 2024.
