Ruth was born on February 4, 1940 in Jefferson City, MO the daughter of Herbert and Lottie (Boeger) Wilmsmeyer who preceded her in death. She was married on December 31, 1957 in Callaway County, MO to Robert L Barnes Sr who preceded her in death. She attended Because He Lives Cowboy Church in New Bloomfield. Ruth enjoyed volunteering at local nursing homes, playing bingo, cooking and spending time with her family.
Survivors include: three sons, William Barnes Sr of Fulton, MO, Robert Barnes Jr of Rhineland, MO and Russell Barnes of Fulton, MO; one daughter, Julie Martin of Fulton, MO; three sisters, Anna Allen, Mary Salmons and Susie Butcher (Bill) all of Fulton, MO; six grandchildren, Teddy Underwood, William Barnes Jr (Katherine), Russell Barnes, Alvin Barnes, David Shull (Jamie) and Thomas Shull; 12 great-grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Bill Wilmsmeyer; two grandchildren, Cory Barnes and Courtney Barnes and her son-in-law, David Martin.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Debo Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Joey Owen officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Fulton, MO.
