Robert was born on October 5, 1929 in McBaine, MO the son of Green and Sally (Calvin) Acton who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage on March 21, 1946 in Columbia, MO to Mary Sue Griffin who preceded him in death in 2006. Bob retired from Ovid Bell Press in 1995 after 38 years. Bob will be forever missed by his friends and family. He will be remembered as a hardworking, dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Nothing was more important to Bob, than his family. He had a big heart and a “saint” to anyone that knew him. His best times were playing horseshoes with his brothers during family reunions. He also enjoyed golfing and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include: one sister, Betty Rippito of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Debbie Orourke (Gene), Robert Berrey, John Berrey (Carmen) and Kim Schoening all of Fulton, MO; ten great-grandchildren, Kevin, Brittany, Caleb, Jessica, Catherine, Joshua, LauRen, Luke, Julian and Cierra and six great-great grandchildren, Shane, Parker, Isabelle, Isaac, Jensen and Oliver. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Lee Berrey; six brothers and nine sisters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton, MO. Funeral service be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Entombment will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton, MO.
