Lance was born on November 9, 1978 in Sullivan, MO the son of Robert and Elaine (Henderson) Hersey. He attended school in St Clair, MO and then moved to Fulton, MO to pursue a career as a mechanic. He also worked as a carpenter for various contractors in the area. Lance was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and working with animals, especially horses. He also liked listening to music, playing his guitar and harmonica, attending his son’s dirt track races, and camping. He had a big heart and loved being around family and friends, particularly when a home cooked meal was involved. Lance wore his heart on his sleeve, could light up a room when he walked in and loved to make everyone smile and laugh. He was a selfless man and his request was to be an organ donor, which his family have ensured his legacy will live on through organ donation.
Survivors include: his two children, Nathan Hersey (Rylei) of Fulton, MO and Paizleigh Hersey of Leasburg, MO; mother, Elaine Ennis (Frank) of St. Clair, MO; two brothers, Shain Hersey of Lebanon, OR and Wes Hersey (Tiffany) of Windsor, MO and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hersey; biological father, Sonny Harrington; brother, Ian Hersey and special cousin, Misty Ennis.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton, MO. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 am with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. He will be laid to rest at a later date on the family farm near Fulton, MO.
