Joseph was born on October 24, 1946 in Callaway County, MO the son of Francis Elmo Kemp and Ruby Myrtle (Frey) Kemp who preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam War from 1965-1967. After the war, he worked for 20 years for Danuser Machine Co in Fulton, MO. Joseph enjoyed fishing, camping, going to the casino boats, driving the country roads and going to the Lake of the Ozarks. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed.
Survivors include: five sisters, Wilma Wall (Danny) of Holts Summit, MO, Teresa Jett (Wayne) of Fulton, MO, Renee Harrison of Fulton, MO, Tammy Ernst (Joe) of Huntsville, AL and Stephanie Mahnken (PJ) of Fulton, MO and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by seven brothers, Wayne Kemp, JC Kemp, David Kemp, Leslie Kemp, Francis Kemp, Wallace Kemp and Harry "D.D." Kemp and two sisters, Kay Love and Velma Durham.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at Debo Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Graveside services with full military honors will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, MO.
