The family will receive guests from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton.
Herbert was born on March 31, 1943 in Doniphan, Missouri to the late Henry and Ina Collins High. He was married to Pauletta Ward on May 12, 1967 in Fairdealing, Missouri and she preceded him in death in 2011.
He served in the United States Army for two years and while being stationed in Norway and Germany. Then he worked for over thirty seven years at Von Hoffman Press in Jefferson City until his retirement in 2005.
Herbert enjoyed fishing, target shooting, St. Louis Cardinal baseball, riding in the woods and he especially loved his John Deere tractors.
Survivors include his daughter, Amy (Michael) Renner of Fulton; son, Paul (Robin) High of Jefferson City; brother, Henry (Lavenda) High of Doniphan; sister, Lorraine Farrar of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Arthur High and his wife, Bessie and two sisters, Pansy York and her husband, MIckey and Elta Bishop and her husband, R.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans or Wounded Warrior Project both in care of Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, Missouri 65251.
