Eric Robert Wilson, 20, of Auxvasse passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at his home. He was born December 3, 1990 in Fulton, Mo., the son of James R. Wilson of Richmond, Mo. and Thomas and Jessica (Newland) Hooks of Auxvasse.
Eric proudly served his country as a United States Marine. He had a variety of interests including fishing, hunting, motorcycles, cars, body building, and making projects with his hands. He was always quick to lend a hand to anyone in need. He loved to golf with his grandpa, camp with his dad and siblings, and talk for hours about cars with his Pa Thomas. He was tough but gentle which was best shown when dancing with his mother to the musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. When he was younger, Eric loved snow. He would dig holes in the snow and make caves and igloos.
Eric had a very large and loving family that spread throughout Missouri, Michigan and Colorado. One of his greatest joys was playing with his nieces and nephews. He had a vast circle of friends who were more like siblings to him.
Left to mourn his lost and cherish his memory are his parents, James R. Wilson of Richmond, Mo., Jessica and Thomas Hooks of Auxvasse, Mo., and step-father, Burns Forsythe; siblings Jeff and Stacia Wilson of Vandalia, Mo., Jessica VanVactor of Mexico, Mo., Jason and Jenny Wilson of Utah, Justin Wilson of Colorado, Chassity and Charlie Nevels of Columbia, Mo., Brittany Wilson of Fulton, and Meaghan Wilson of Fulton; grandparents, Arla Jean Wilson of Pickford, Mi., Sharron Newland of Vandalia, Mo., Donald and Linda Newland of Fulton, and Terry Hooks of Auxvasse.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Fulton with Bishop Les England officiating. Interment will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 pm on Tuesday, September 28 at the church. In lieu of customary memorials, the family suggests donations be made in Eric’s name to the Eric Wilson Memorial Fund, payable to Jessica Hooks, c/o Debo Funeral Home, PO Box 818, Fulton, MO 65251.
