Clifton was born on August 10, 1937, in Watson, MO the son of Clifton and Aileen (Garst) Bemberger who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage on July 14, 1957, to Bonnie Todd at the First Baptist Church in Fulton, MO. He was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Fulton, MO, where he served as Deacon. Clifton retired from the Union Teamsters Local #833 as a truck driver. After his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, collecting and attending Antique Hit & Miss Motor shows, gardening and growing large tomatoes. Clifton took great pride in being “Papa” to his grandsons and great-grandchildren, spending countless hours giving them rides on the lawnmower. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, papa and friend to many. He also enjoyed spending time tinkering on his grandfather’s 1934 International grain truck.
Survivors include: his loving wife of 67 years, Bonnie Bemberger of the home; one daughter, Kitty Cunningham (David) of Fulton, MO; one son, Kent Bemberger of Fulton, MO; four brothers, Kenny Bemberger (Jean) of Rockport, MO, Benny Bemberger of Nebraska City, NE, Brad Bemberger (Judy) of Watson, MO and Tom Bemberger of Brownville, NE; two grandsons, Justin Cunningham (Tammy) of Fulton, MO and Seth Cunningham (Chelsey) of Buffalo, MO and six great-grandchildren, Austin Cunningham, Jaden Cunningham, Molly Cunningham, Emery Cunningham, Everett Cunningham and Eli Cunningham. He was also preceded in death by his son, Kevin Bemberger; twin brother, Clifford Bemberger and great-grandson, Uriah Cunningham.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton, MO. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Delbert Hampton officiating. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton, MO.
