Carl was born on October 23, 1943 in Little Rock, AR., the son of Willis and Doris (Williams) Roberts who preceded him in death. On December 8, 1966, in Oakland, CA he was united in marriage to Karren Jacobsen who preceded him in death in 2008. Carl was a Veteran of the US Navy. He served 22 years, including service in the Vietnam War, before retiring in 1983 as Senior Chief. After retirement, he moved to Missouri and worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections from 1984 to 2004, when he retired from State employment. In 1987 he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Columbia College.
Survivors include: one son Steve C. Roberts (Peggy) of Fulton, MO; one daughter, Carrie Kinnear (Chad Ensey) of Killeen, TX; seven grandchildren, Paige Baldwin (Caleb), Matthew Roberts, Elizabeth Roberts, Meghan Roberts, Cara Duran (Alvin), Christin Gonzalez (Jose) and Cody Kinnear; six great-grandchildren and four sisters; Dona, Mable, Peggy, and Mary.
He was also preceded in death by his half-brother, Lawton Roberts.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Debo Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Anthony Fusco officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.
