Betty was born on November 2, 1945 in Callaway County, MO the daughter of Harry and Georgia (Gilman) Martin who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage in 1965 in Reform, MO to Harry Eugene Kemp, to this union they had one son, Marvin Kemp. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church in Fulton, MO, even after she became homebound, she would enjoy watching Sunday service online. She retired as a cook in 2011 from Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center in Fulton, MO. Betty enjoyed quilting, sewing, eating fried catfish, sitting at her kitchen window admiring the birds and spending time with her friends. She would spend hours going through her photos of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were truly her pride and joy. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include: son, Marvin Kemp (Susie) of Mokane, MO; two grandchildren, Corey Kemp (Erica) and Justis Fitzgerald (Derek) and three great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Fiona and Cashus. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Marvin Martin, Robert Martin, Elmer Martin and James Martin and four sisters, Mildred Adams, Katherine Harrison, Clara Kelsey and Peggy Benson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton, MO. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Tyler Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Steedman, MO.
