Terrence John King, 59, of Yorba Linda, CA died suddenly on Saturday, July 28, 2018. The sixth child of Byron and Marian King, he was known to his family and his friends as Terry. Born in Phoenix, AZ, Terry grew up in Placentia, CA, eventually moving to Yorba Linda. He is survived by his mother, Marian King and his seven siblings, Kathy (Lee) Hutchison, Karen (Randy) Johnston, Michael (Jan) King, Linda (Gordon) Carter, Sandra Turnbull, Robert (Helen) King, and Daniel (Yolanda) King. Terry was also a warm and loving uncle to 22 nieces and nephews and great uncle to 29. He was preceded in death by his father, Byron, who passed away in 2007. Terry was a proud “Valencia Tiger”, graduating from Valencia High School in Placentia in 1977. After attending Fullerton College, Terry found his true passion, the restaurant business. He apprenticed for many years at Marie Callender’s restaurants, eventually opening his own sandwich shop, TG’s, in Brea, CA in 1993. That business became Terry’s life, his patrons became his friends, and his employees became like family. Terry was also an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying hours of sports television. His California Angels and Los Angeles Lakers were among his favorites. Terry was a hard worker, a man with a big heart and love of family. He will be terribly missed by his family and friends. A Mass celebrating Terry’s life will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 717 N. Bradford Avenue, Placentia, CA. A private burial will follow at a later date. Flowers can be sent to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or in lieu of flowers, a donation in Terry’s name made to a favorite charity would definitely please him.
