A couple years ago, Susie spent a few days with my husband Steve and me. She and Steve had been corresponding for a few years. Their connection was her older brother John, one of Steve’s best friends. 

We enjoyed every minute we spent together. What a delightful character. Now that time seems like such a gift. I will always remember her as someone who was passionate about many things including eclipses. 

It seems that knowing and loving and being loved by Susie was a bit like viewing one of her beloved eclipses. She was a warm bright light in our universe that was suddenly lost to darkness, but when the light that was her life started to shine back through in memories, we appreciated more than ever how magical it was to have known her. 

Rest in peace, dear Susie.

Susie was such an awesome person! She was a great friend and was so caring. This picture was when  she came to visit when Rob was in the hospital. She was Rob's sisters friend growing up but became our friend. We will miss her so much. All our love and prayers for the family she loved so much❤️🌹😢

Susie was best friends with my sister growing up & I used to hang out with them while they were "plotting" things. Then years later we reconnected & since then we were best friends she was like a sister to me I loved her like one. She was a wonderful person who cared about everyone especially her friends where she lived Sylvia & the rest. I'll miss her terribly but I know she's in a better place & in no more pain. ♥️

My friend Susan is gone, but will remain a part of my life. We shared interests, one, a daily 5-question email Jeopardy! I was always amazed at her knowledge of the different categories. Another-  sharing our ‘snacks’. Although some of our interests might have been ‘little things’, let me say ‘little things mean a lot”. She often spoke about her loving family, both here and out-of-state, the children, and Charlie!  My thoughts to her family and friends.   Sylvia Bongiovanni

This photo is from one of our excursions with Aunt Pat to San Clemente.  Pat reconnected me with Susie a few years ago and I feel very lucky to have gotten to know my second cousin during that time. I truly enjoyed her quirky sense of humor, her insatiable curiosity about the world, and her encyclopedic knowledge about our shared family. I will  miss our frequent lunches and hearing about her recent escapades and her take on what's going on in the world.  I never expected to lose her so soon and I will deeply miss her presence in my life.

To my beloved Mother In Law, life won't be the same without you. One of my favorite memories were the times we would have you over at our house for dinner. We spent lots of time being in nature in our backyard enjoying eachothers company. I know how much you loved our fur baby Charlie.
I will miss how Charlie would respond when you came through the door.  You had so much love to give in your heart. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
It was an absolute honor to have you as my Mother in Law.

My cousin/sister....  I am at a loss for how to navigate a new road without you in it. We were all totally unprepared to lose you and there's a huge hole in our hearts now. You will be loved and missed evermore.
I grew up with Susie. She was 2 years older than me, two years younger than my sister, and a really big part of our lives growing up. Susie actually lived with my family for a few years when I was in high school, so she truly is more like a sister. We've communicated with each other literally all our lives. Last summer I got to spend about 4 days in San Clemente with Susie and we had an absolute blast, a little mini cousin vacation. We were planning another one for this summer. But instead of a trip down for a cousin vacation it will be a trip down to say goodbye 💔.   Or maybe I should say, see you later. Susie had a strong faith and we talked often about our trust and belief that we would be together with our loved ones again eventually. I didn't realize that was going to apply to us so soon.  But Susie, Suds, Cuz, I will see you again.   I love you.

My life will never be the same. My mother could take David and I out on the most simple of an excursion and always found a way to make it fun for us. One of the only people I ever knew that I could talk to if I wasn't in the best mood, was known by most of my friends as one of the "cooler" moms out there. She shared many interests with Dave and I and was always willing to take part in hobbies, projects, extracurriculars and what not. This will be a grieving process for the ages. I would say a lot more but I'm speechless. See you on the other side mother!
