Robert was born on February 25, 1956, in Salina, Kansas. Son of an Air Force Enlisted Officer, he moved around to numerous places, including Alaska, Texas, and finally ended up in Arkansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Arkansas City High School and went on to graduate from Kansas State University, where he met Faye. Bob graduated with a civil engineering degree, went to work for Pitt Des-Moines Inc (PDM), an American water storage tank company, taking his family to Iowa, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and settling for the last 40 years in Placentia, California. Bob made his mark in sales, earning a reputation for closing deals and making friends with everyone. He enjoyed knowing everyone around him. His PDM work took him to Egypt and across the United States.
Bob was active with church, coaching his sons and daughters’ baseball and softball teams, the Placentia Chamber of Commerce, Business Networking International (BNI), and spoiling his grandchildren. He loved his wife dearly, always finding ways to embarrass her with his affection and cherished the time they spent together. Bob loved his family, decorating for Halloween, and his over-the-top BBQ set up outside on his patio, in the sun. In 2017, he formed Empire Energy Solutions with his partner, Mark, selling solar systems. He loved sharing is knowledge of solar with his neighborhood. ‘Mr. Sunshine’ (as he was known in his later years) brought rays of sun and love to everyone he met. He connected everyone to the sun, loved what he did and was the most loving and full of life individual ever. He was and will always be Mr. Sunshine.
