Robert Joseph Caulfield

Robert “Bob” Joseph Caulfield, 87, moved from Placentia, CA to his new home in heaven on Monday September 6, 2021. Bob was born to Catherine and Bernard Caulfield in Braddock PA in April 1934. He is survived by his best friend forever, Patricia (Pat) Higgins; his children, Bob Jr., Michele Michel and David; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his former spouse, Shirley Caulfield, mother of his children. Bob was preceded in death by: his mom and dad, Bernard and Catherine Caulfield (Wagner); brother, Bernie; sister, Kitty Stack; and his loving daughter, Mary Beth. Bob was an avid baseball player, fan, and coach. Bob coached church, community and high school baseball, and softball. He was a devout fan of the Pittsburg Pirates and the California Angels. Bob attended St. Thomas High School (Good Shepard), in Braddock PA. and graduated from both St. Vincent College, Latrobe, and Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, with degrees in mathematics and civil engineering. He began his career with U.S. Steel, Homestead. Bob was plant superintendent for American Bridge Division of U.S. Steel in both Gary, IN and Los Angeles, CA. He was involved in the construction of the Sears Tower in Chicago, IL, and the Alaskan Pipeline. After his retirement from U.S. Steel, he began a very successful career in real estate.
