Peter Carpio Gomez, of Placentia, passed away on May 20, 2016, peacefully in his family's home. Born in Placentia to Domingo and Ana Marie Gomez on April 27, 1923, he was one of eleven children.Our beloved Peter was a World War II veteran, where he received several medals, including: the World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He also received an Army Commendation Medal, praising his military, musical, administrative duties and abilities throughout his military career. He served faithfully in the U.S. Army from March 8, 1943 to August 1, 1966. Peter served in the 9th Army under General Simpson. Throughout his life he cherished his time spent in the Army, and forever remained devoted to his country.He lived a simple life enjoying the company of family and friends. American, through and through...baseball, specifically the Los Angeles Dodgers were always a passion. Politics excited him, and he kept up with the the daily news. He maintained a meticulously organized home, a testament to his military background, training and discipline.He is survived by sisters Pauline Arroyo and Irene Escarsega, brothers Robert Gomez and Jesse Gomez, and nieces and nephews
