I had heard that she was sick and had been keeping her in my daily prayers.Whenever I was around Patti it was a fun time for sure. I remember Patty from the old neighborhood in Kingsbridge, Bronx, NY. and her late husband, Johnny.  We were all teenagers then and focused on cokes, juke boxes and bowling.  Sorry to here of Patty's passing.  I will remember both her and Johnny fondly.

Dear Renee, John, Jeanne, Lynn and Megan, There are not enough words to say how sorry I am for your loss.  Personally,  my life will never be the same without your beautiful sister and mother.  There was never a time in my life when I did not know Patty.  We were born 10 days apart...me first.  We grew up together, played together as toddlers and went through 12 years of school together, first at St. John’s in Kingsbridge and then off to St. Catherine’s Academy on Pelham Parkway for High School.  Through all those years I don’t think there was a day I didn’t see Patty, except for the summertime when the Gould family would go to Long Beach.  I remember eagerly awaiting Labor Day when Patty would return.   There were so many things we did together as kids...my Mom took us to our first movie at the RKO theater.   We saw “Father of the Bride” with Spencer Tracey and Elizabeth Taylor.  I went to my first Yankee Game with Patty and her Grandfather, Pop McQuigan.   It might have been my first Yankee Game, but it was definitely not Patty’s first game!  Her love of the Yankees never wavered.  She once ran down the Grand Concourse after Don Larsen to get his autograph.  I vividly recall Patty taking a bus to Leona, New Jersey to see Mickey Mantle’s house. I think she still had some crab grass she took from his lawn when we last talked about it.     Patty and I also shared many important events in our lives together.  We were married a year apart, and of course were in each other’s wedding parties.  But the most important event we shared together was giving birth to our first-born sons a day apart, delivered by the same doctor at the same hospital.  What a treasure for me to share such an event with my best friend.   I remember when Patty and Johnny told Danny and me that they were moving to California. I was not a happy camper.  Poor Johnny. I think I called him a few choice words.   That year, 1973, Patty and I again gave birth...I in February and Patty in August.  Patty was Godmother to my son Danny, and I was given the honor of being Godmother to Lynn.   Over the last several years Patty would visit Danny and me in Florida.  Everyone here in the Islandia Condo loved Patty and always looked forward to seeing her.  Patty always visited around St. Patrick’s Day. That date will never be the same for me without her. So, I say goodbye to me dearest friend.  I love you beyond words, and life without you will never be the same.  Who will I ever talk to again for four hours at a time on the phone.? I will live on with all my wonderful memories of you.   To Renee, remember how blessed you were to have a wonderful sister.  To John, Jeanne, Lynn and Megan, your mom loved you all so much.  She was so enormously proud of all of you.Good bye my dear friend...Ellen
