Mary Patricia (Crow) Wagner of Fullerton passed away on January 11, 2018 after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mary Pat was born May 26, 1927 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Earl and Helen Crow. They moved around Minnesota as her father was a physician and after working as a family physician, took on the role of medical director of a series of TB sanitariums. Mary Pat attended Saint Catherine University in Saint Paul Minnesota and was valedictorian of her graduating class. She married William A. Wagner on December 28, 1949 in Minnesota, where they began their family. They moved to California in 1954 where Mary Pat taught English and French at St. Joseph’s Catholic elementary school in Long Beach. In September 1959 they settled in Fullerton, California where education, music and raising a family were her passions. She became the church organist for St. Mary’s annex Catholic Church which became St. Juliana Falconieri Church of Fullerton in 1965. She served as organist for 40 years as the choir and her catholic faith were very important to her. Bill and Mary Pat had six children: Mark, Stephen and Jim Wagner; Anne Marie (Champion), Janet (Parrill) and Joan (Wismer). Mary Pat was an accomplished artist and created beautiful window paintings every Christmas season. She enjoyed her bridge club, the theater and working with charitable and religious groups such as the Serra Club of Orange County. She loved to dance, cook and entertain their many friends. She was a true animal lover who gave a home to a number of four legged companions as well. Mary Pat was widowed in 1988 after 38 years of marriage. She continued to be very active in her community until being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. She is survived by her siblings James Crow of Northfield MN, Dr. George Crow of International Falls MN, Rita Wittman of Minneapolis MN, Robert (Bob) Crow of Ames, IA; her six children (named above) and ten grandchildren: David Wagner, Patrick Wagner, Bradford Parrill, Scott Wagner, Seth Wismer, Amanda Parrill, Joshua Wismer, Luke Wismer, Helena Champion and Matthew Parrill. A special thanks to the entire staff at New Horizon Board & Care and SeaCrest Hospice for their loving care of Mary Pat. Services are to include a Rosary/vigil on Monday February 12, at 7pm and Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday February 13, at 10am.
