Mary Lorraine Scarborough Brown was born on May 22, 1929 to Henry and Louise Boisseranc. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 20, 1921 at the age of 92 after suffering a heart attack earlier that week.
Mary had three older siblings and enjoyed her childhood. She grew up on her family’s ranch in Buena Park where her father owned a large orange grove. This early connection with the land must have accounted for her love of fruit trees and gardening. She attended and graduated from Fullerton High School. Her working career consisted of cafeteria work, most especially at Quickset and St. Jude Hospital.
Mary purchased her home in Anaheim and resided there with her first husband, Bill (Melvin), until his death in 1989. She was very proud of her home and took great care with its upkeep. She was a fastidious homemaker and kept her house spotless. She married her second husband, Max, in 1994 and moved to his home in Fullerton until his passing in 2013.
Mary and Max loved to travel. They would frequently visit Max’s property in Arizona. Mary also traveled to Hawaii and France with her sister, Blanche, where they visited their mother’s family home. She truly enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and seeing new places. After suffering a fall and being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, she moved in with her niece, Deborah, when she could no longer live alone.
Mary was a kind and generous person who took great care of her family and friends. She will be remembered as a gentle soul who was so appreciative of the care she received. She always said thank you and was always complementing someone about his or her home or a delicious meal. She will be missed.
Mary is preceded in death by two spouses, Melvin Scarborough and Max Brown, her parents, Henry and Louise Boisseranc, siblings Henry Boisseranc, Blanche Lae (Roy), and Albert Boisseranc, niece, Deborah Scharfe (Ray), and nephew, Roy Lae, Jr. She is survived by her niece, Janet Donnelly (Kevin) and nephew, Michael Lae (Michele), ten great nieces and nephews, and eight great, great nieces and nephews.
