Mabel Molly Rael Scarlett, 94, died February 10th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Her funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, February 25th at St. Juliana Falconieri Church in Fullerton, CA.
Mabel was born on December 13, 1930 in Albuquerque, NM to Annie and Antonio Rael. She graduated from Santa Fe High School and continued her education at Pasadena City College where she was a member of the basketball team. Through mutual friends, Mabel met the love of her life, Gene Scarlett of Knoxville, TN. On September 3, 1951 they married in Yuma, AZ and went on to share 67 years full of love, family and friends. In 1961, the family migrated to California for Gene's career where, after raising their children, Mabel re-engaged in the workforce as an ESL Teacher for the Anaheim School District. Upon retirement, they enjoyed many years traveling abroad until Gene's passing in 2018.
Mabel's memory will be forever cherished by her three children Jackie Mazon of Montgomery, Texas, H.E. Scarlett II (Sonny) of Golden, CO and Anna Milewski-Ricardo of Long Beach, CA; Son-in-Law Jerry L. Thomsen; Daughter-in-law Kimberly Milewski-Ricardo; 7 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.
