Ligia L. Rosasco Renteria, 80, was called peacefully to heaven on October 30, 2017 at her home in Santa Fe Springs, California surrounded by the warmth & love of her loved ones. Ligia was born in Tumaco, Colombia on October 6, 1937 to David & Anita Rosasco. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Jose L. Renteria. They were married on January 9, 1964 in Miami , Florida. Ligia is also survived by her daughter, Anna Salinas, her son in law Hank Salinas, her son Jose Renteria Jr. and her daughter in law Annabelle Renteria. Ligia also has four grandchildren, Sebastian, Nicky, Giovanni and Marcel. All who called her “Bita”. She is also survived by her sister Leonor Pittman and many nieces & nephews. Ligia ,along with her husband Jose, devoted her life to lovingly raising & guiding their two children and later their grandchildren. The love, respect, and devotion Ligia and Jose gave one another was a living testament to their commitment to each other and to their children. As her children got older, she worked for the corporate offices of EDS and California Federal Bank as a processor. She was a dedicated employee who took pride in her work and her accomplishments. Ligia was blessed with many talents . She loved to paint , decorate her home with beautiful antiques and flower arrangements she arranged. She enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb. She grew beautiful plants & vibrant colored flowers. She took pleasure in sitting on her patio enjoying her garden and God’s beauty that surrounded her. She loved listening to music , especially boleros. It reminded her when her husband would court her with serenatas in Tumaco. Ligia was also an excellent cook and loved to make her favorite Colombian dishes, especially her famous empanadas, for those she loved so dearly. Ligia opened her home and heart to those around her and for that reason she made beautiful long lasting friendships. She spiritually adopted with nurturing arms many other grandchildren that also called her “Bita”. She loved having children around , hearing their laughter and seeing them grow. She was very proud of her Colombian heritage and enjoyed teaching her friends and the children about her culture & food. Ligia touched so many hearts & souls with her genuine kindness as she embraced them with her endless love.Family was everything to her. She was an amazing wife , mother , grandmother , aunt and friend. She will truly be missed. Gone from this earth , but not from the heart.
