Joy Feeger, our Golden Lady, stepped onto the streets of gold on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 88 years of age. Born on March 13, 1930 in Los Angeles, CA, she was the oldest of two children of Keith and Lynne Heiner. Her and her younger brother, Keith P. Heiner grew up in Salt Lake City, UT. After graduating high school, Joy was married and had 2 children, David and Dyan. She later divorced and began working as a receptionist for the University of Utah. It was there that she had her own radio program featuring classical music. In 1962 she married Paul Feeger. She always said "He was a bachelor that needed a family and we were a family that needed a bachelor." They moved to Denver, CO. where in 1966 she became the president of the Swedish Medical Center Auxiliary. In 1967 they moved to Texas and in 1968 they moved to Placentia, CA where they had their daughter, Amy. She lived in Placentia for the last 50 years of her life. Joy was always glamorous! Gold, glitter, sparkles and bling were always synonymous with Joy Feeger. She loved to entertain and throw big, extravagant parties that had to have a program where everyone would be singing, doing skits and laughing like crazy! She believed life was full of adventure and you're never too old to begin a new adventure. In her younger years she enjoyed skiing and golf. Later she kept busy modeling, writing skits, musicals, poetry and plays for various organizations. She was active in her church and sang in the choir. She loved to dress up in silly costumes or fancy outfits full of sparkle and glam. She was always the life of the party. For the last 40 plus years she was very active in Stonecroft Ministries, Christian Women's Club. She was the Regional Representative as well as an inspirational speaker for their organization. She never tired of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Along with C.W.C., she may be remembered by most as "The Hat Lady" due to her fabulous Hat Show she presented throughout the state. She was a character, one of a kind and a true Joy to all who knew her. Joy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Paul Feeger and survived by her children, David (Linda), Dyan (Tim) Kirkpatrick, and Amy (Brent) Woodrum, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 20th at 10:01am at Riverside National Cemetery and a memorial service at 3:30pm at her home. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to Stonecroft Ministries.
