Joan D. Corless passed away peacefully in her home on September 27, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Vearl and Sidney Dalton, born in Akron, Ohio October 27, 1930. Joan and Richard E. Corless Sr. married in 1949. They raised 4 children, fondly referred to as the 4 R's. Joan was a loving wife for 62 years, full of joy, a loving Mother, Grammy, GG and friend. Joan had a 30-year career as a business owner working in the family business until age 78. She was an avid sports enthusiast and loved golf. She and Richard were long time members of Yorba Linda, Country Club, where she served as President of the Women's Club from '92-'93. The many friends & good times that were made playing golf at the Yorba Linda Country Club were a treasure in her life. Family friend, Jim Cavannaugh, may have best described Joan " she was the most welcoming person I have ever met. I don't know of one person who didn't feel the warmth of her embrace and the shared laughter of her smile. " She is survived by her children Richard E. Corless Jr., Robert A. Corless, Rebecca Corless Jaber, and Randi Corless Hansen, Grandchildren Tyson Hansen, Matt Hansen, Richard E. Corless III, Andrew Corless, Stephanie Jaber, Brittany Jaber and Allyson Jaber, Great grandchildren Lilly Jaber-Lea, and Karley Corless. Daughter-in-Law Kathy Kierulff Corless and Son-in-Law Michael Jaber. Joan was a 15-year survivor of ovarian cancer. In lieu of flowers donations in Joan's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. There will be a Celebration of Life for family and friends on her birthday October 27, 2014 from 12:00-3:00 pm, at Yorba Linda, Country Club.
