Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Jean spent her winters in Wellington, Florida, embracing both the snowy seasons and the sunshine with equal joy. A proud graduate of Nazareth Academy, Class of 1948, she remained a devout Catholic throughout her life, guided by her unwavering faith and generous spirit.
Jean was full of life and deeply cherished the moments she spent with family and friends. She was an avid golfer at Oak Hill Country Club, and also found joy in skiing, swimming, and especially dancing. But nothing brought her more happiness than watching her grandchildren play sports — she was their biggest fan and fiercest cheerleader.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Bernard (Bernie) Hogan; her daughters Patricia Murray (Butch) and Maryann Thompson (Steve); her son Thomas Hogan; her siblings George Schropp (Shirley), Mary Schropp (Sister Dorothy Therese), and Dorothy Gefell (Bernie).
Jean is survived by her devoted children: her daughter Nancy Saxby (John) of Rochester, NY, and her son Brian Hogan (Kate) of Fullerton, CA. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother Robert Schropp (the late Barbara) of Carlsbad, CA; her cherished grandchildren David Thompson, Stevie Thompson, Jack Saxby, T.J. Saxby, Sam Saxby, Daniel Hogan, and John Hogan; and her treasured great-granddaughter, Emma Jean Thompson. She had many nieces and nephews.
