Helen Catherine Johnson

Helen Catherine Johnson, age 97, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 24, 2022 at her home in Fullerton California. She was born November 29, 1925 in Somerton, Yuma County, Arizona to the late Jesse Dart and Mina Vawter Dart. She attended Yuma High School where she met her future husband, Omer “Dee” Johnson. The couple married June 29, 1945 and moved to Orange County California where they raised their four children.

Helen was a loving and devoted wife and mother as well as a woman of great faith. She was an accomplished pianist and vocalist serving her Lord through her music as the church pianist, occasional organist and choir member. Helen enjoyed teaching her many piano students over the years. Even at 97, she would offer to give a lesson or play a tune for any visitors.

She is survived by her four children, Lila (Ron) Fraiser, Carol (John) Brewer, Mark (Molly) Johnson and Clay Johnson as well as 2 grandchildren, 10 great grand children, 4 nieces and 1 nephew.

Helen is preceded in death by her loving husband “Dee” as well as brothers, Gerald and Robert and one grandchild.

She will be buried at Riverside National Cemetery with her husband of 75 years.

She was a living example of the love of Christ, her Lord and Savior and a beautiful soul who will be greatly missed. Her peace and joy in heaven along with reuniting with her loved ones brings us comfort.
