Dolores Jean Moriarty of Brea, Ca. passed away on February 25, 2015 at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA. Beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, Calligrapher and volunteer for the Anaheim Police Department. Born in New York, "Dee" as she was also known, worked for PanAm and The Borden Co. before she married "the boy next door", then moved to California in 1952 to raise a family. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, a talented Synchronized Swimmer, active in the PTA and Church. She volunteered her time to CCD at St. Angela's Catholic Church in Brea and her talent, by donating her calligraphy. Later she studied calligraphy with Donald Jackson; the Queen's Scribe in England and soon after, opened a calligraphy studio in Villa del Sol in Fullerton before becoming ill. She traveled to Spain, Paris, Italy, Ireland and back to her roots in New York. Dee's bunt cakes traveled as well, to family and friends. They were irresistible just like her and out of this world. As a child she had ducks and a dog named Dusky Duke and in High School she study voice and piano, was in Leaders Club and played field hockey. She was in the rifle club at Lynbrook High School and her father a former Marine taught her how to shoot. She even carried her rifle to school, down the quiet streets of Lynbrook, to target practice on the school grounds! No one thought it odd and no one was ever shot! After graduating from Lynbrook High School in 1950 she attended Berkley Business College in New York City. She loved sports and was an avid UCLA/John Wooden basketball fan. She leaves behind the most devoted husband Earle, Daughter: Claudia Moriarty Mansur (and husband John), Son: John Moriarty (and wife Patrice); grandchild: Isabella; Brother: Edward B.
