He is survived by his wife of 45 years Martha Kay Burns, daughter Tara Burns and her finance Curtis Tobacco, and sister Susan Powers. Other loved ones he left behind are mother in law Lula Belle (Lou) Ross, sisters in law Bonnie Moore, Linda LeDuc and Sue Warfield, brother in law Norm Warfield, Nephews Tony Comstock, Brandon Hulett, Phillip Warfield, Brad Groen, Charles Volkart nieces Amber Bailey, Amanda Goldstein, Nicole Daeschner, Brandy Burns.
Ray was preceded in death by his father, Charley Burns, mother Cludey (Shorty) Keele Powers, step father Bob Powers, sister Diane Groen, father in law Clayton (Bill) Ross, brothers in law Mike Ross and Mike LeDuc.
When the family was living in Virginia (1985-1991) Ray enjoyed hunting and fishing. While Kay was at work, Ray and Tara had many opportunities to engage in many outdoor adventures. When the family returned to California Ray continued to enjoy these outdoor activities in Green Valley Lake where the family lived from 1991 until 2014 when they moved to LaHabra. Ray and his family also made many wonderful memories spending time by the ocean at his father’s ranch in Baja Mexico, Rancho Tampico.
A private memorial service will be held at a future date.
