Darren Lee Kerr, 41, of Yorba Linda, passed away October 1st, 2010 in Aliso Viejo from injuries sustained in a solo-vehicle auto accident. Darren was born in Inglewood, California on April 23rd, 1969, and lived his entire life in Southern California. Darren graduated from La Quinta High School in Westminster in 1987, where he excelled at football. Darrens enthusiasm, energy, and good-hearted sense of humor made him the type of person that attracted friends from all walks of life. Darren was an entrepreneur and restaurant manager for well-known establishments such as Hennesseys in Laguna Beach and Dana Point, My Place in Huntington Beach, and The Alibi Bar & Grill in Corona. Many people who visited those restaurants entered as patrons or co-workers and soon became Darrens close friends. Darren loved going to Angel games, Big Bear, the River, or just about anywhere that involved bringing families together to enjoy life. Many of those trips included his countless friends from East Yorba Linda Little League, where Darren coached his sons team for many years. Darren is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Linda Windy Kerr, their 12 year old son Tanner; his brother, Bill Kerr; his sister, Julie Kerr-Backus; his brother, Kevin Tygard; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws whom he loved dearly. Darren is preceded in death by his father, Arnold Anthony Kerr; his mother, Joann Tygard; and his great Aunt Dottie who helped raise him to become the amazing man, husband, and father he was. A visitation will be held at McAulay & Wallace Mortuaries on Thursday, October 7th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The mortuary is located at 902 N. Harbor Blvd, Fullerton CA 92832. A memorial service and mass will be held at Santa Clara de Asis Catholic Church on Friday, October 8th at 9:30 a.m. The church is located at 22005 Avenida de la Paz, Yorba Linda CA 92887. Tanner has requested that those attending the visitation or memorial come in casual attire. For the Friday service, hes hoping that guests will wear the apparel of their favorite sports team or, better yet, Darrens favorite teamsthe Angels or Indianapolis Colts.
