Anne Stephanie Costa, 92, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on May 25, 2013. She is survived by daughters Carole Bradley and Tessa Jacobs, 4 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Anne was born in New York City in 1920, raised by Polish immigrants in an apartment above a music store with her sisters and brother on St. Mark's Place. In the 30's, Anne performed as a cellist in a musical trio with sisters Frances and Wanda, touring on the East Coast with the Major Bowes Amateur Hour Radio Show. After World War II, Anne moved to southern California with husband and big band leader, Billy Amen, to start a family, subsequently taking over ownership of a well known restaurant and nightclub in Merced, California, the Club Joaquin, which she managed for over 20 years. After selling her business and retiring in the late 70's, Anne traveled extensively in western and eastern Europe, including trips to Poland and the Soviet Union, making countless connections with lifelong friends throughout the world. In 2003, Anne settled in Anaheim, California to spend more time with her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed a quiet and peaceful life at home until her passing with newfound friends, family and pets; Poppy and Zuko (poodles), Murphy and Sophie (cats) and her backyard hen, Nelly. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 3rd, 2013 at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary in Fullerton, California.
