William Michael Elliott Smith Apostle, age 50, passed away peacefully in his home in Colorado on Monday, September 30, 2024. Bill was born on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, MO on June 21, 1974. Bill, or Woody, as his friends called him, was a talented artist his entire life. He painted everything from church murals to published comics and animated characters. He grew up in the Brookside Prairie Village area and attended schools in Shawnee Mission, KS. Bill served in the US Navy and loved to travel to new places. He performed stand-up comedy shows in Chicago, Seattle, Kansas City and Fort Collins; Bill loved to make people smile and laugh. He was larger than life!
Bill is survived by his mother, Patricia Lowry (Blue Springs); siblings, Mike (48), Christina (47), Mary (43), Kate (39), Kerri (32), and Sarah (28); along with dozens of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Steve Apostle.
