Bill was born in Rochester, NY in 1939 to Lucille and Leo Davin. Bill is survived by his 5 children, Bill (Katie), Beth (Greg), Terry (Juliet), Jeff, and Mark.
Bill had 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, with another one on the way! Also, numerous nieces and nephews that he loved.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Barbara, and his granddaughter Mackenzie. Dad put up a fight for the past 4-5 years against Dementia/Alzheimer’s. He passed with family at his side and when it was time for him to reunite with Barb and Mackenzie, he went quickly.
The Davin family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1971 when Kodak asked Bill to transfer. Arriving in 1971, we found that we had a mini-Rochester family and built-in friends for the next 50 years. Following his retirement from Kodak he worked at Mountain Mist Spas for 10+ years.
Dad loved his family and friends with all his heart and was loved by so many. Having had the privilege of retiring at an early age, he spent most of his free time watching his grandchildren excel in all their interests growing up. He rarely missed an event, and with 12 grandchildren, all similar aged, he had to miss a few. He would always call and ask how it went without him.
Mom and Dad had special relationships with their grandchildren. Each of them felt like number one! They had a great knack to make all of us feel that way. They were best friends with all their children and loved by all.
Bill also had a wonderful extended family in Fox Park, Wyoming, where he and Mom had a cabin. Dad loved snowmobiling, four-wheeling, but most of all, he loved the people. The friendships he developed in Fox Park have extended to the rest of our family, and we cannot thank them enough for the outpouring of love and support they showed while both of our parents were going through health challenges.
Dad also had a great group of buddies that he golfed with over the past decade. They went on numerous “golf outings” over the years. The friendships, the stories, the laughter was what it was all about—golf was secondary. A special thanks to all of them for their patience and support in the last couple of years of playing.
We will miss Dad everyday and never forget the impact he made on so many. Rest in Peace Dad.
