She was born in Minneapolis in 1937, was the publisher of the Suburban Observer in Sandy, Utah, and was a reporter for newspapers in Utah and Vermont. She married Joseph T. Newlin in 1972 and moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where she founded Art West Designs.
Vivian was a dedicated girl scout leader and community volunteer, and she was a fabulous cook, a passionate gardener, and an inveterate traveler. She was preceded in death by her husband and two children, Susan and Dennis, and is survived by her brother, Donn; two daughters, Kathryn and Sondra; three sons, Keith, Steven, and Joseph, 5 grandchildren, Allen, Jaimee, Christopher, Melissa, and Laszlo; and 3 great-grandchildren, Madison, Oliver, and Freya.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at 11 am at Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 West Drake Rd., in Fort Collins. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
