Ron was born January 14, 1944 in Winterset, Iowa, the eldest son of Raymond and Madene Comp.
He served in the Air Force from 1966 to 1969, where he was stationed in Okinawa and served as a MP.
Ron attended Colorado State University where he received a BA in Horticulture in 1972. He went to further his education at California Polytechnic University, and received his Master’s in Agriculture in 1977.
Ron returned to Fort Collins, where he resided for the rest of his life. He loved the outdoors, and spent much time hiking and taking photos in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Ron is survived by his sister Debbie Caldwell.
