Phil (Phillip I.) Robinson, 85, passed away at his home on February 16, 2021. He was born in Elk City, Oklahoma, on June 27, 1935. After living in several states, Phil and his parents moved to Pueblo, Colorado, where Phil attended Pueblo Junior College. He then graduated from New Mexico A&M (now New Mexico State) in 1957 with a Bachelor Degree of Science in Civil Engineering.
His first engineering job was in Los Angeles CA, then in Grants NM before moving to Fort Collins. He worked 40 years for Stewart & Associates, Engineering and Land Surveying, from 1960 to 2000, becoming a part-owner of the company.
On Valentine’s Day in 1962 Phil married Judy Tadlock Jones, the office secretary. Two days before his passing they celebrated their 59th anniversary.
With his 3 sons – Jeff, Jerry, and Jay – the family enjoyed many driving trips, including those to Iowa and Oklahoma to visit family. After retirement, the trips continued through the years; and Phil and Judy traveled to all 50 U.S. states.
Phil belonged to the CSU Ram Club for many years. He and Judy began attending games while the team was playing their games on South College Avenue and had season tickets for the many fun years near the foothills. Phil also belonged to the Eaton Country Club and the Men’s Golf Association. When the boys were young, Phil also managed Little League teams.
Phil is preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife; 3 sons; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 2, at 10:00a.m. at the Allnutt Drake Road Chapel, 650 West Drake Road, Fort Collins CO 80526. Inurnment at Grandview Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to organizations or charities of choice.
