Paul John Darcy passed peacefully in his sleep early on the morning of April 6th, 2023. The son of Ruth Kathleen Hurley and John Joseph Darcy, he was born in 1948 near Boston, MA. Paul has three sisters, Gail, Jean, and Marie, and is the beloved husband of Jeannie Darcy. He is survived by his two sons, Daniel (Sam) and David (Janice), and four grandchildren: Max, Olivia, Abigail, and Caleb. Paul also leaves behind a cherished extended family of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Paul met Jean at Colorado State University, graduated in 1970, and has been a Fort Collins resident since. He obtained his Master of Education degree from Colorado College and was a Poudre School District teacher at Moore Elementary for 29 years.
Paul was an avid singer and guitarist, playing with friends and in bands all his life. He was a classic car specialist, concentrating mostly on vintage Ford T-birds. He and Jean were charter members of the Rocky Mountain Thunderbird Club and restored dozens of collectible cars.
Paul's life will be celebrated in late July with family and friends. He is dearly loved and missed and will always be remembered as an exemplary father, husband, brother, uncle, and grandpa. We love you, Paul, and will see you again.
The Darcy family thanks DementiaTogether.org for their kind support, and the staff at Aspens of Fort Collins and Bristol Hospice for their loving care.
