Michele Leigh Johnson was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on August 8, 1967 to Robert and Susan Johnson. She moved to Colorado in 1972 and then Loveland in1977. As a child she enjoyed going swimming in the lakes, rivers and swimming pools over the summer. She would go camping with her family during the summertime and exploring in her father's Jeep in the mountains; finding places that people hadn’t seen in decades.
She loved learning, crocheting, music, dancing, going to concerts and was the ultimate Harry Potter fan. She was very generous, kind, loving, and hilarious with her wit and had a contagious laugh.
She graduated from Thompson Valley in 1985, then went on to Colorado State University graduating with a Bachelor's of Science, and then continuing her education at the University of Northern Colorado getting her Master’s Degree in Child Education.
Michele was a born teacher and taught for Elementary students from 1994 until she passed away. She was teaching Special Education at Ponderosa Elementary School in Loveland when she passed. Michele never considered teaching a job, but a privilege to be a part of a child’s life, even if it was for a brief period. Michele taught children how to think and gave them a passion for learning. Her past students would find a way to come visit her, even some from as far back as 1994 and they still held a strong bond to this day.
She was a daughter, sister, aunt and friend; she touched the hearts of everyone that came in contact with her. She was preceded in death by her mother Susan Johnson and survived by her father Robert Johnson, Sister Angelique and brother-in-law Edwin Thomas as well as her niece Kenya Thomas and nephew Jarome Thomas.
There are no words that can describe the loss of a loved one except that, ‘We shall meet again, fly Robin fly.’ She will be greatly missed and her family asks if you knew her, spread her kind gestures to others and remember her for the AMAZING woman she was.
