Margaret was born November 8, 1934, in Greensboro, North Carolina, to Arnold G. and Myrtle D. Neese. Margaret was greeted at birth by her two older brothers, Bill and Sam “Dat” Neese, and later they were joined by their baby sister, Mary Jane Neese. Margaret was a southern lady through and through. She would never be caught seen without her hair fixed, her lipstick on, and of course her outfit had to match from head to toe.
Margaret met the love of her life Norman O. Sager when he was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. They were married on January 28, 1956. They shared 62 wonderful and loving years together, and three beautiful children, Terri, Tracy, and Norman O. Jr. They enjoyed a life together full of traveling, camping, and horseback riding.
Margaret, better known as Mama and Maw Maw, had a love for garage sales, gambling, and Elvis. She was an avid collector of all things Elvis and loved running into “him” on her trips to Las Vegas. She would never turn down a trip to the casino no matter where it was, though she was a bit disappointed when she learned penny slots no longer took only pennies. Margaret worked at Heath engineering/ESAB, where she proudly worked for over 20 years. She loved being the receptionist. Margaret loved crossword puzzles, all things nautical, the Titanic, drawing, and putting together jigsaw puzzles that she insisted she glued together once they were finished. Margaret's greatest love, however, was for her children, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nothing on Earth gave her more pleasure than her family. Margaret was always the first to volunteer to babysit, take the kids to the movies, or out for food and ice cream. She loved indulging them with gifts. Christmas was crazy. You couldn't even walk through the living room for all the perfectly wrapped, ribbon, and bowed gifts that Margaret would give her kids and grandkids.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold G. and Myrtle D. Neese; her older brother, William “Bill” Neese; her little sister and best friend, Mary Jane Neese; her devoted husband, Norman Otis Sager Sr.; and her grandson, Landon P. Sager.
Margaret is survived by her brother, Samuel G. Neese; her three children, Terri D. Sager, Tracy D. Sager-Spoerri, and Norman O. Sager Jr. (Lauren); her grandchildren, Morgan D. Sager, Derek A. Faucher (Sylvia), Dilan R. Faucher, and Sydney N. Sager Wilcox (Joshua); and her three great-granddaughters, Hadyn Sager, Aria Faucher, and Hailey Wilcox.
There will be a graveside service for Margaret at Resthaven Memory Gardens (8426 S. Hwy. 287, Ft. Collins, CO 80525) on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 2 pm.
