LOVELAND-Joyce Marie (Martindale) Jackson, 85, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019, surrounded by family. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Weber (Tim), Beverly Ziemer, Barbara Oeth (Kevin), and son, Martin Poole (Marlene). She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Smith, her sister Pansy Van Matre and brother Tracy Hobbs and her parents. Joyce was born January 11,1934 to Jacob and Edith Brown in Denver, Colorado. She was one of seven children. She spent her childhood in Denver and graduated from Edgewater High School in 1952. Joyce was married to John Martindale in January 1951 and were married for 18 years. They had three daughters Brenda, Beverly and Barbara. In 1959 they made a move to Windsor, CO. Kathy joined their family and was adopted in 1968. John still survives in Greeley, CO. In March,1970 Joyce was married to Eugene Poole. He preceded her in death. Joyce pursued a career in fashion and music. In pursuit of her dream she traveled to Nashville in 1984 and recorded an album. During her singing and song writing career she blessed many with her love of gospel and country music but also performed with Sweet Adeline’s and several country and western bands. Her unshaken faith in Jesus Christ was the soul of her music as she participated in church choirs and cantata performances. Her music is still available today on eBay. She continued to sing and entertain for many years until she lost her singing voice due to illness. In 1997 Joyce was joined in Marriage to George Jackson. After retirement they joined RV Roamers and traveled for several years with a short residency in Arizona. He preceded her in death. In 1999 Joyce was diagnosed with a rare genetic lung disease called Alpha1 Anti-Trypsin Deficiency. Her remaining years were lived out in Northern Colorado and finally in Loveland where she enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Her life was full of love and she never stopped serving others as she served her Lord. She is well known for her beautiful hand made scarves, crocheted necklaces and her amazing cookies.
