Jerry Lee Cogburn

Jerry Lee Cogburn passed away peacefully in Ft. Collins, Colorado on December 20,2022. Jerry was born on August 9, 1935 in Gilcrest, Colorado to Opie L. Cogburn and Frances (Warren) Cogburn. He was a graduate of Aggies, the current CSU, where he obtained a Master’s in Agriculture and went on to achieve a Doctorate in Vocational Education.

At a young age he worked along side his father at O.L. Cogburn and Sons raising and selling potatoes to local and national grocers and food conglomerate Frito Lay. In his professional career he became territorial manager for the western United States with Cargill Inc. Once Jerry retired from Cargill, he and his wife of 38 years purchased and successfully operated Dale’s Carpet One of Ft. Collins, Colorado.

He is survived by his wife Roberta (Doyle) Cogburn, son Scott Cogburn (Crystal), stepchildren Michelle Likes (Dan), Gary Poquette (Shauna), Melanie Mahaffey (Ray) , Jim Poquette, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and his precious puppy Molly.

Visitation at Allnutt Funeral Service, Drake Road Chapel on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 9am until time of Funeral Service at 11am. Burial at Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins, CO. Arrangements entrusted to Allnutt Funeral Service.
