Jan was born on January 7, 1936 in Holland, Michigan. Her parents were Jerald J. Van Omen and Virginia R. (Verburg) Van Omen. She grew up in and around Holland with three brothers and a sister. Following high school, Jan obtained her Bachelor’s Degree. She worked for many years as an operator and supervisor for AT&T. She also stayed home to raise her daughters. On June 7, 1998, Jan married Merle Boden. They moved to Loveland in 2001 and had celebrated more than 26 wonderful years together at the time of her passing.
Jan’s essences was that of kindness, goodness, and generosity. She lived a beautiful life full of wonderful blessings. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, and dear friend to many. She will be dearly missed.
Jan legacy of faith and family will live on in the hearts and memories of her daughters, Lisa, Krista, Julie, and Tracy, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her children and their children and her husband, Merle, she is survived by her sister, Lynne Schmidt.
A Memorial Service will be held for Jan at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Collins on Friday, April 19th, 2024 at 10:30am. Following the service, family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Jan's Life and a little lunch at Jan and Merle's home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are encouraged to Redeemer Lutheran, where she was a longtime member.
