Janet Barr Jenny"" Spence (Scott)

Janet B. Spence, 90, known to all as Jenny, passed away peacefully at her son's home in Loveland on October 7, 2013. Jenny was born on August 22, 1923 in Larkhall, Scotland to Allan and Anne Scott. She later moved to Kilmarnock, Scotland where she met and married Hugh Spence on June 9, 1950. They welcomed a daughter, Anne in 1953, and a son, Wilson in 1955.

The family moved to Wishaw, Scotland in 1957, where Jenny worked as a legal secretary in a local law firm for over 30 years. During this time, Jenny and Hugh remained active in the Scottish Association for Badminton, and the Scottish Association for Lawn Bowling, both serving as officers in each organization. Jenny also enjoyed travel, baking, knitting, and her 3 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh, her daughter, Anne, and her brother, Claude. Jenny is survived by her son, Wilson, and his wife, Linda, and their 3 children, Jennifer, Jonathan, and Lindsay Spence.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Resthaven Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, we request a donation in Jenny's name to the American Red Cross for the Colorado flood recovery in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
