James Arthur Nutt passed away on September 28, 2022. Jim was born on June 15, 1945, in Hammond, Indiana to Alfred Walter Nutt and Alice Viola Nutt, nee Davis. He grew up on the family farm in Woodland, Illinois. After graduating from the University of Illinois in 1967, Jim moved to Fort Collins to attend graduate school at Colorado State University and to travel for his national fraternity, Alpha Kappa Lambda.
He met Diane Louise Morrell in Fort Collins and they were married on April 3, 1971, at First Presbyterian Church. He was an independent, self-employed, life and health insurance agent. A passionate coach of little league and club baseball in his spare time, Jim co-founded Northern Colorado’s first traveling competitive youth baseball league.
Jim’s favorite activities were community service (Sertoma Club/Downtown Club), fine woodworking, golf, being a grandfather, and singing in the First Presbyterian Church choir.
Jim is survived by his wife, Diane of Fort Collins and their children Scott Davis (Kimberly) and Sarah Elizabeth (Benjamin Patella). He was the proud grandfather of four boys: Riley, Andrew, Caleb, and Samuel.
There will be a memorial service at First Presbyterian Church, 531 South College Avenue, Fort Collins, CO., 80524 on Saturday October 15th, 2022, at 10:00 am.
