

James Milton Bourne of Livermore, Colorado, was born to Claude and Mildred of East Orange, New Jersey on February 27, 1927. He left this world to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ, on March 6, 2024. He was 97 years old.
He leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Carole Bourne of Livermore, Colorado, his daughter Teri Bourne of Boulder, Colorado, his son Michael Hunter (Vickie) of Rockwall, Texas, his granddaughter Nicole Eastham (Steve) of Lucas, Texas, and grandsons Michael L. Hunter (Michelle) of Argyle, Texas and James E. Hunter, currently posted at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada, and great grandchildren Natalie Herman (Daniel), Julia Eastham, Jared Eastham and Emily Hunter.
James was married three times, to Vida Roe Frazo (deceased) of Bloomington Indiana, Charlotte Gasser (deceased) of Swink, Colorado and Carole Bourne (Hayter) of Livermore, Colorado.
James proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps in World War II and in the Korean War. In World War II he served in the Amphibious Tank Division in the Pacific Theater where he landed on Guadalcanal and Guam and fought in China. After the war ended he served at the Crane Naval Ammunition Depot in Crane, Indiana where he met his first wife. James served in and retired from the Colorado Department of Corrections. Prior to that he served as undersheriff of Otero County and as a police officer with the city of La Junta. James spent the last seventy-five years of his life as a proud and committed resident of Colorado.
