Imogene ""Gene"" Maxine Hanson, 90, of Loveland, passed away January 1, 2011 at the McKee Medical Center Hospice Unit. She was born on November 14, 1920, in Lone Star, KS, to Elmer A. and Bessie O. (Johnson) Shafer. She graduated from Manuel High School in Kansas City, MO. On January 12, 1946, she married John Hanson in Kansas City, KS. John passed away on June 1, 2006. Before moving to Loveland, she resided in Lakewood. Gene was a master seamstress, a caretaker, and animal lover. She was a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was involved in many church related causes. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son-in-law. She is survived by children, Gary (Chris) Hanson of Westminster; Nancy Burns of Overland Park, KS, Susan (Steve) Shyrock of Loveland, and Rebecca (Mike) Osborne of Wheat Ridge; grandmother of Jennifer, Andrea, Amy, Andrew, Kelly, Jodie, and Kellie; great-grandmother of Olivia, Tally, Dylan, Connelly, Halie, Ashlie, Grayson, and Jackson.Private family services are being held at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
