Glenn “Smokey” Myers was born on August 21, 1926 and called home on November 13, 2016. He was a beloved husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and United States Navy Seabee Veteran. He also served in the United States Merchant Marines. He was born August 21, 1926 to Sindy and Warren Myers of Haxtun, Colorado. He retired from Burlington Northern Rail Road in 1988. He served in WWII in the South Pacific from 1943-1945, where he received a Purple Heart and learned to box. His love of boxing is where he earned his nickname Smokey. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to collect antiques. He was a very proud Republican and patriotic American. He was a great story teller and loved to gamble. He was the best darn craps player that has ever played the game and loved the Denver Broncos. He is preceded in death by his mother and father Sindy and Warren Myers, Sister Jo Myers, Brothers Dale, Bill and son Larry Myers. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Donna, his daughter Rhonda (Kirby) Mishler, son Gary Myers, grandchildren Nick (Shannon) Mishler all of Loveland, Donna Myers of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Natasha (Juan) Redublo of Jacksonville, Florida, Jenny (Mike) Mead of Berthoud, Colorado and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation 3:00 pm - 7 pm, Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services 2:00 pm, Wednesday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment Resthaven Memory Gardens.
