I didn’t know Franz for very long. Other than while we worked together. But my memories of him are fond.  He was truly a kind hearted and caring coworker and friend. I remember in Dec 2022 when I received a call that my father had passed away and I was frantic and inconsolable. Within seconds he asked if I needed to leave. And would cover me. So seriously his concern was. I will never forget the gratitude and generosity Franz has done for me. He was an awesome friend and coworker and all the stories and experiences he’s told me will continue to remind me of him always. Until we meet again brother. RIP…

My deepest condolences to my friends family. I won't forget Franz, his sense of humor, the stories he could tell, his infectious laugh. He was just a great friend, co worker and person in general. He had no problem putting himself second, if you had something going on, he would stop and help. Franz, I'm gonna miss you buddy. See you again one day.

One of my fondest memories was canoeing with Franz and his father in the wilderness of Northern Canada.  I think Franz was 11 years old, and he put up with three old men; he was never hesitant or fearful.  He paddled and enjoyed the outdoors and brought nothing but joy to our lives.    I remember at one point we were traversing about 6 miles across a lake, and it started to rain really hard; the waves were 2 feet high and every time his canoe hit a wave it would wash over Franz in the bow.  It was scary and miserable, and we still had 3 miles to go to complete the crossing. Franz was in the bow of his dad's canoe  He was singing.  His spirit was indomitable.
